{Review & Giveaway} Shindig Parties to Go!

I wanted to make my son’s 5th birthday party as special as I could for him.  And I wanted personalized Star Wars items to use for table decorations.  So I started looking around and found a great Etsy shop, Shindig Parties To Go, that has pre-designed party printables.

Shindig Parties To Go offers personalized party printable invitations and party decor, helping you create the perfect party in no time at all! Just print, cut and CELEBRATE!

It was so easy using Shindig Parties To Go.  I downloaded the file that the owner, Amanda, sent me.  I printed them off on photo paper and cut them out.  I was able to make great table decorations and other items for the party with them.

I was super easy to make the cupcake toppers and I was able to do it super cheap.  I picked up Christmas cupcake picks for 75% off (About $.50).  I then pulled the Christmas topper off and then Hot Glued the new cupcake toppers on.  It worked great!  And I didn’t have to spend a lot of money on the picks.

Then I made these great center pieces.  I used craft wire to hold the piece in place.

I used Mason canning jars as my base and covered them with silver tissue paper that I picked up at the Dollar Tree.  I used craft foam inside the jars to stick everything into.

The Shindig Parties to Go Printable items put at great touch on the party.  And everyone was so impressed by it. There are so many party packages to pick from.  Head over and see what she has to offer!

I recommend visiting the Shindig Parties to Go‘s blog to find great party ideas.  Right now you can find this great Valentine’s Freebie!

{Review & Giveaway} SHinDigZ Party Supplies

With Jedi Training looming on the horizon I had to make sure I had everything in order for the Young Padawans I had coming!  So I was so excited when I found out that SHinDigZ was going to generously sponsored me with a review and giveaway.

SHinDigZ is an 86 year old family owned company and is currently run by a husband & wife team who has been involved with the company for nearly two decades.

ShindigZ has everything you could possibly need to pull it all together and make your party a smashing success. You can get:

  • life sized cutouts of your guest of honor
  • banners
  • balloons
  • paper products
  • invitations
  • a wide variety of personalized items

SHinDigZ has the BEST selection of Star Wars items.  They also had stickers and toys that I was able to use in the Pinata.

What I loved is that they had life-size Standees.  So we were able to get a Yoda Standee, so that Yoda could be part of our Jedi Training…what training would be complete with out Yoda there!  This cut-out was great!  Life-size for Yoda is only about 4 feet tall.  But I looked so neat having him stand there!

I was very pleased with their costumer service and how fast their shipping was.

So if your planning a party of any kind make sure you head over and check out SHinDigZ!

How to make a Death Star Pinata for your Star Wars Party

You can’t have a Star Wars birthday party without a Death Star Pinata to destroy!  But your not going to be able to find one to buy.  So here’s how you can make one!

You start with a Soccer ball Pinata, like the one from at SHinDigZ!

I then pulled all the black lines of the soccer ball off, leaving just a white ball.

Then I spray painted it gray, with two coats.

I then cut a hole in the bottom and filled it with candy (that I got on sale at the 50% off after Christmas sale) and added the Pull-String Kit that is included with the Pinata.  I used painters masking tape, so as too not hold it too tight. (The Pull-String Kit basically makes it easy to get the Pinata open.  It comes with a bunch of strings for the kids to pull so that when the right string is pulled the Pinata comes open and the candy comes out.  But I knew the kids wanted to beat the heck out of it with a Lightsaber, so I opted to just use the one pull string as a way to get it open, IF they couldn’t beat it open…which they didn’t so we did have to use the pull string…but it didn’t work as well as we hoped but it helped.)

Then I let the Birthday boy draw on the details for the Death Star.  He was pretty proud of how he made it look.

The kids LOVED beating the heck out of this Death Star!

{Review} Wholesale Star Wars Costumes

When you have a Young Padawan  living in your house, you have to have the best Star Wars Costumes! And the best place to find them all in one place is Wholesalestarwarscostumes.com!

Star Wars is one of America’s most popular movies of all time.  Whether you loved Hans Solo, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader or Yoda; there are many different Star Wars costumes to choose from. Star Wars costumes and accessories can be found as sets or bought separately to complete a Star Wars costume. Star wars fans can also accessorize their Star Wars costume with a light-saber or doublesided lightsaber and recreate their favorite Star Wars battle scene.

We eat, sleep and play Star Wars all the time here in our house.

For our review, Jace picked out the Star Wars Deluxe Luke Skywalker Child Costume.

This great Star Wars costume features the classic Luke costume of a white tunic, black belt, tan pants and attached brown boot tops.

We picked size Small.  It says it’s for sizes 4-6, but it’s a little big on Jace.  But that just means it will fit him longer. It takes a little work to get the tunic top in place just right before you tie the belt on.  One side ends up looking too long.  And Jace thought that the boot tops would look more real.

Over all Jace LOVES his Luke costume and it’s a MUST for any young Padawan!

Make sure you check out my Star Wars Birthday party ideas!

And don’t you just want this Yodi for your dog?

Star Wars Birthday Party Ideas

I’m so excited that my son is turning 5 this years.  He’s totally into Star Wars right now, so we’re planning a Star Wars birthday party.  We’ll be hosting Jedi Training for a few of Jace’s little friends.

I plan on sharing all my Star Wars Birthday Ideas with you along the way.  So make sure you check back for more ideas!

May the Force Be With You!

First I got these great invitations from TinyPrints.  (In the black area on the front of the card is where the Date, Time and Place goes.)

Then in the invitations that went to his friends I also added this:

In a galaxy far, far away, on the morning of (Child’s Birthday), a baby boy was born. The Jedi Council named him Jace and they knew he was the chosen one. In the 5 years that followed his birth, young Jace has been learning the powers of the Force. Meanwhile, the Republic discovered a new enemy. The Jedi Knights felt a strong disturbance in the Force. Fear, pain and suffering have opened the path to the Dark side. Many Jedi Knights have been lost. The very future of the Jedi Order is in jeopardy. Young Padawan Jace has been called by the Council to seek out future Jedi. Master Yoda is urging the younglings to complete their training and take part in the upcoming trials.

Each Padawan’s presence is requested to complete their Jedi training and prepare for the trials on (Date of party). Transport to the Jedi Temple, on Coruscant, will be departing promptly at 4:00pm from the Nehring docking bay. Please advise the Jedi Council as soon as possible as to whether each Padawan will accept the challenge of the trials.

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!

Please note that due to new security protocols in the Republic, no weapons will be allowed on all transport vessels. Rest assured that the Jedi Council has secured enough equipment for the Padawans to complete their training.

{Review} Deluxe Darth Vader Child Costume

Halloween time is one of my favorite times of the year.  Memories of dressing up as someone different, and getting candy from all the neighbors.

Jace was so excited to view the hundreds of different boys Halloween costumes on Wholesale Halloween Costumes. I think we spent a few days just looking at different ones that he might want to me.  But at about that time, he was also just starting to get into Star Wars.  So we spent a lot of time looking at the  Star Wars costumes.

Jace decided that he wanted to be part of the dark side of the force!  So he picked this great Deluxe Darth Vader Child Costume.  This costume is great!  It’s very well made and I love that the cape comes off.  My only concern with it is that it’s not very wide.  Jace is pretty skinny and tall.  And the length is great but if he was any bigger it might not fit him in the width.  But it works well for us.

When the costume arrived, Jace couldn’t wait to put it on. This costume features an injection molded mask, a long flowing black cape, and a black jumpsuit. Boot tops and a 3D chest piece complete a quality costume any child would love.  My son loves this costume!

Retail Value: $74.99 Wholesale Price: $35.30.

You’re not going to find this low of a price anywhere else online!

Here’s Jace’s Review:

Disclaimer: I did not receive any form of cash for this review and this is written based on my own honest opinion (other people opinions may vary). Wholesale Costume Club provided me the products to be reviewed but it does not affect my review and opinion on the products.
